The short version
in ten sections.

We curate introductions between four strangers and book the room. We are not the restaurant, and we are not responsible for what people do once we have seated them. Everything below is that idea, written out properly.

01

Who we are

Good Strangers is a supper society operating at goodstrangers.co, currently in Bengaluru, India. “We” and “us” mean Good Strangers; “you” means the member. Using the site or applying for a seat means you accept these terms.

02

What Good Strangers is — and isn't

We curate introductions. We match four people, book a room, and tell you when to be there. That is the entire service.

We are not a restaurant, a venue, an event organiser, or a dating service. We do not employ the venues we book, we do not prepare food, and we are not a party to what happens between members after we have seated them.

03

Eligibility and your account

You must be 18 or older and able to verify a government-issued photo ID. One membership per person. Seats are not transferable — the person we matched is the person who attends.

Everything you tell us in the quiz and application must be true. We match on it, and a false answer produces a table that works for nobody.

04

The invitation

Membership entitles you to one curated night a month, subject to a suitable table forming in your city. We choose the night, the venue, the format, and the people. You cannot request specific members.

If your cluster doesn’t reach four in a given month, your seat rolls to the following month. See the refund policy for what happens if we repeatedly fail to seat you.

05

What you pay

Membership is ₹9,999/- per month, billed monthly in advance and auto-renewing until you cancel. Prices may change with at least 30 days’ notice; the new price applies from your next cycle.

Your bill at the venue is not included and is paid by you directly to the venue. We take no commission on it and do not sit between you and the room.

06

Conduct at the table

The code is short: turn up as yourself, let people finish, don’t pursue anyone who isn’t reciprocating, don’t photograph the table without asking, and keep what’s said at dinner at the dinner.

Harassment, aggression, discrimination, or pressuring another member for contact details breaches these terms. So does using a table to sell, recruit, or promote.

07

Suspension and removal

We may suspend a membership immediately while we look into a safety report, and remove a member whose conduct breaches section 06. Removal for a substantiated safety breach is without refund.

We may also decline or end a membership without cause, in which case we refund the unused portion of your current cycle.

08

Our editorial and design

The Good Strangers name, wordmark, written content, photography, and the editorial design of this site are ours. You may not copy or reproduce them. Member feedback you send us may be used anonymously to improve matching, and quoted publicly only with your consent.

09

Limitation of liability

We select venues with care and verify every member, but we do not control what other people do. We are not liable for the conduct of members or venues, for food, drink, allergies, or injury on venue premises, or for anything arising between members after a night ends.

Where liability cannot be excluded by law, it is limited to the membership fees you paid us in the preceding three months. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

10

Changes, law, and contact

We may update these terms and will post the revised date at the top of this page. Material changes get at least 30 days’ notice by email. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept them.

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction. Questions: hello@goodstrangers.co.
